Tribal Council #14

Previously on Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New
Tribal Council earlier in the week resulted in no players voted out, but saw Dave shift back to Nevala, Graham shift back to Kobara, and Sasha stay on Ulloo. The next challenge was a late night affair, with pressure rising as the minutes ticked by. The result was as fast and close as ever, with Kobara winning, and Ulloo finishing second despite being slowest, only by nature of Chris’ mistake. Now, Nevala is heading back to Tribal Council.

When Nevala was first formed, the group of newcomers couldn’t get anything right. The combination of lack of experience, and the consistency displayed by the veterans on Kobara send them to an astonishing number of Tribal Councils, decimating their numbers. Now there are only 6 remaining original Nevala players, and 2 of them reside with their original team. Jon never left, and had likely used the past couple of weeks to solidify his bond with his friends that joined him at the Tribe Swap.

Dave took a 3 week trip to Kobara, but instead of enjoying Kobara’s traditional success, still managed to attend 3 Tribal Councils in that time. He’d been through the ringer, and now had to rebuild connections on his original beach after yet another twist. But despite being the new guy in town, Dave was tired of the game happening TO him, and was going to start making the game work FOR him,. He came in hot. Not only did he have his strongest Immunity Challenge performance yet, but he quickly established dialogue with most of Nevala in no time at all. But would they listen to his plans?

Chris on the other hand probably should have been concerned because it was his mistake that earned Nevala Tribal Council duty in the first place – but he wasn’t. Despite answering the question the 2nd fastest, he didn’t take the time to double check the  correctness, and all of Nevala must pay the price. But he had a tight bond with James, Jon had apparently come on board, and though their game strategies were like oil and water, Peter likely had Chris’ back as well.

That meant that even though Chris struck out at the Immunity Challenge, Dave was assuredly in danger, but so was Amanda. She had been part of the 7-1 Kobara crushers, just like Chris, Peter, and James, but not necessarily part of the group of guys that had been friends for half their lives. So Amanda and Dave could work together to try and infiltrate the group, or they could go after eachother to survive just likely one more Tribal Council. Amanda was OG Kobara like the rest of them, so she was going to fight too.

Check out the video below for a discussion with Nevala on the recent twists, team dynamics, and details about tonight’s vote:

If you just want to get to the results, then look no further! Before we read the votes, we need to determine if any player will be playing a Hidden Immunity Idol tonight. So we posed the question to the 6 players on Nevala, and the result?

Nope again! No idol was played tonight, and as such all the votes will COUNT.

So by a vote of 3-2-1, the 13th player voted out of Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New is Dave! Well that sucks. Dave visited 10 out of a possible 14 Tribal Councils, and was able to survive the first 9 of them. As a complete newcomer to the game (and to me even knowing who he was!) Dave took awhile to understand the social requirements, but once he did, he played strongly. Going to Kobara showed him the potential of social players, and some bad luck this week cut that experience short by sending him right back to Nevala.

He had no real shot there, but he tried his best and that’s all I can ask for! Check out his interview below:

Thanks for tuning in! The next Immunity Challenge will take place on Monday.
