Week 7 Stats

Hello Top 17! I know it’s not great for Dave, but how nice is it for the rest of us to go through an Immunity Challenge and Tribal Council with zero controversy? It’s excellent and I’m looking forward to many more weeks of smooth sailing. For now, let’s take a look at the updated standings. These metrics use my own formula, but for your information, they essentially capture the following criteria:

  1. Do you typically answer correctly or incorrectly?
  2. When you answer correctly, how quickly in relation to the other competitors do you answer?
  3. When competing head to head, how often do you win your matchup?
  4. How often have you “sat out” of Immunity Challenges?

So let’s get to some of our top performers over the first month and a half of the season. First and foremost, our top player for the past number of weeks has been Bryan. Typically answering with the right combination of speed and accuracy, Bryan has separated himself so far. But the game is long. In the next tier would be Chelsea and Graham. Separated by only 0.1 of a point, Chelsea has the edge on the strength of her overall speed. She’s made a couple of mistakes, but when she’s right, she’s fast. Graham has simply been Mr. Consistency. He’s gotten points in all of his head to head matchups, and hasn’t had 2 poor performances in a row.

Cowin and Paul round out the Top 5 with their overall consistency throughout the game, while Kyle and Chris immediately follow them, the brothers heading in two different directions in the standings. Chris started off very strong, but has had some mental lapses that have cost his tribes valuable points. Kyle would be in the top 5, except for the fact that he’s sat out twice so far, pushing him down to 6th.

You’ll notice that Nevala is not only the first team down to 5 players, but Chris is their highest ranked player in 7th place. This is not a trend that Nevala wants to see, because nobody wants to go home over the next couple of weeks and miss the merge! Below are the rest of the rankings – as you can see, the overall spread is starting to normalize, with all players almost within 10 points of eachother. Great job everyone!
