Previously on Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New
We are nearing the 2/3 mark of our game with only 11 players left from the original 30. Last Tribal Council saw the need for a tie-break with Sharon sent home over Peter, and we expect today’s vote to be just as wild. The only certainty was that Jon wouldn’t be going to the Jury, since he won Thursday’s Immunity Challenge – his 2nd win of the season.

As numbers dwindled our players were getting more paranoid. Peter had once again narrowly avoided elimination, but he had to be even more worried that his time had run out, and that the third attempt on his “game life” would be successful. Not that he didn’t have allies. More players had decided to keep him around than vote him out, so there was a glimmer of hope. The key would be to shift the target onto someone else. But who would that be?
His main allies were Chris (who had saved Peter once with a Hidden Immunity Idol, and had assuredly helped on Wednesday too), Jon (who had the Immunity necklace and was thus safe), and James (who had yet to really make a splash in the game). This was a strong group of 4, but that was also the problem. As the largest visible alliance, it was looking more and more likely that one of them had to go so that the rest of the players could feel more comfortable. Do they sacrifice one of their own for the benefit of the three?
Of course it wouldn’t be that simple. Every player knows that the time to do a blindside is when the target least expects it, and if everyone is assuming Peter or one if his strongest allies is going to the Jury, now would be the best time to take out someone else. Kyle had been the center of attention during much of his time on Kobara, partly due to the fact that he had won the game before, but mostly because he was a very active player who didn’t sit back and let the game happen to him. He’d somehow avoided the spotlight for a few votes in a row now – could he continue that?
Bryan, David C., April and Paul had each avoided the spotlight completely since their time on Ulloo. They built a strong bond through many challenge successes on that team, and it’s continued into Tendua, when they were ostensibly joined by Jordan and Graham. I know it’s not that simple, but players would need to consider that those 6 players were working together, at least temporarily, making them a big alliance as well. But since it’s not that simple, we also need to remember that each of those players IS playing their own, individual game (well, maybe 5 of them) and at this point, a rogue vote could definitely change tonight’s outcome.
At least one player in the game had now voted for Peter 3 times in a row, without success. Check out the video below to find out if 4th time’s the charm…
And now we’ll get to a reading of the votes, but before we do, we need to check if any player will be using a Hidden Immunity Idol to save themselves or someone else…

Nope! All votes tonight will count. Let’s read ’em.

By a total vote of 8-3, the 20th player voted out of the game, and the 4th member of our Jury is Peter. As Peter himself mentioned, the long winning streak on Kobara, and then the fortuitous Tribe Swap gave Peter and his allies some much needed time off early in the game, but it may not have prepared them very well for the merge. Aligned from the start with his boys Chris, James, and Jon, Peter was always going to have a target on his back, and the only way out of that would have been to turn on his long-time friends while creating much more work for himself at a time when family is most important. I always appreciate Peter’s mature and leveled approach to Survivor Hamilton, and though he didn’t win this time, there’s always a spot for him next time around.
As for the rest of you. Congratulations on making the Top 10!!!

For most of you this is the furthest you’ve gone in Survivor Hamilton, and you should all be very proud of the accomplishment, especially after all the hard work you’ve put in. However, the game is only going to get harder from here, so it’s time to put your “big boy pants on”. Your next Immunity Challenge comes on Monday, but you should always keep your eyes open for any twists coming your way.
Have a great rest of the weekend. Here’s Peter’s PLAYED! with Meg & Mike video for your viewing pleasure:
