Last week on Survivor Hamilton: Fire & Ice… After a surprise tribe swap changed the game, an already short-handed Hielo lost yet another Immunity Challenge, and one of the leaders of Hielo was voted out of her own tribe over 2 Fuego usurpers.

Down to only 6, an exhausted Hielo walked back to their beach, the weight of yet another difficult Tribal Council heavy on their minds. With 2 original Hielos, 2 original Fuegos, and 2 Week 7 swappers, the next few weeks could go any way. It had seemed like forever since the beginning of the game, and these guys were wearing it all over. By this point, Jordan and Claudia were more rested than the others because life at Fuego had been pretty sweet with only a handful of losses. Silas with his twisted ankle was hoping that it wouldn’t impact the next challenge, and Jonathan was very wracked with the stress of the last vote and what his next plans would be. Bryan and Chelsea were used to change by now, but with all the moving around they were both finding it hard to talk strategy with anyone. They both had connections on both tribes, and that could be seen as dangerous.

Waking up for yet another day on the beautiful side of the island, Fuego enjoyed their 3rd week off in a row from Tribal Council. By this point the most difficult part of the game was still feeding all these people. The coconut trees nearby had been relieved of all their nuts, the fish were wise to the game, and Tyler was convinced he kept seeing Luke sneaking beans when no one was looking. He couldn’t believe it actually, because Luke always seemed to be eating something, and it mostly appeared to be their beans. Even so, the group was getting skinny, though no one complained too much because we’re 30 now and who couldn’t stand to lose a few?

Come on in guys! Fuego getting your first look at Hielo, Cait voted out last week at Tribal Council. At that, the faces on Fuego were shocked. They were sure that Jordan would have been voted out, so seeing Cait, the leader at so many previous Immunity Challenges out of the game was wild. Things were definitely heating up at Hielo beach! Ready to get to today’s Immunity Challenge?
For this challenge, one castaway from each tribe will run back and forth up a ramp, lugging along a large bucket of water, after filling it up from a well at ground level. Once at the top of the ramp with their full bucket, they will pour the water down to a level 8 feet below, into the bucket of another castaway, and again for 4 more levels, where the castaway at the bottom of the “staircase” will pour what’s left down into a narrow clear cylinder. Once the water rises to the top, a flag will raise and that tribe will win Immunity, while the other will head to Tribal Council tomorrow. Fuego, you have 2 extra members, 2 of you gotta sit out. It was looking like a hot one, and Meg and Stevie wanted none of it, so they graciously volunteered to sit out.
With Alex running for Fuego, and Silas begging Hielo to let him be their runner, the challenge started on a hot sunny day with Alex pacing herself, and Silas trying to run full speed. Though he twisted his ankle in last week’s Immunity Challenge, he insisted that he was alright, and also had the best cardio on the tribe. Because he was original Hielo, the tribe consented, and though Silas looked like he was limping slightly, he was still moving far faster than Alex. So Silas reached the top of the ramp, and started pouring down to Bryan, but it was clumsy at best.
And by the time Bryan poured what was left to Jonathan, there was barely any left, and thus the longest afternoon of Silas’ life began. In fact, while Chelsea, Jordan and Claudia worked well together, barely spilling any water, the other 3 Hielos couldn’t make anything work. With Alex leading the way, Fuego was making it look like a pleasant afternoon at the beach. No one was stressing. Graham and Tyler up at the top kept making fun of Bryan and Jonathan, and also Silas whenever the increasingly lame runner would show up, gasping for air.
With Alex just chugging along, and Luke taking the time to pour water all over himself (the heat!)(and just a little showing off to an unimpressed Stef), Fuego kept on enjoying themselves while a frustrated Chelsea looked up at her failing tribemates, wishing them to be better. Just beeeeeeeee better she whispered just loud enough for Claudia to hear. By this point, Silas was just limp-walking, while Alex was holding a steady jog and it looked like this would be her last trip. So she reached the top, poured every bit of her water to Graham, who poured to Tyler, and down from Graham to Rebecca, to Luke, and finally Stef filled Fuego’s cylinder, and FUEGO WINS IMMUNITY sending Hielo back to Tribal Council for their 4th Tribal Council in a row, and their 8th of only 12 votes. Yikes.
