Previously on Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New
After Kobara lost the last team Immunity Challenge and Graham was eliminated, the remaining players formed out merged tribe – Tendua. Elliott joined them shortly after battling back from Exile Island, and now we have our Top 14. One of these players will win the game!
Each of these players had their own stories from the first half of the game that led them to the panther tribe, Tendua. Some players like Sharon and Jon attended 10+ Tribal Councils, where Sharon was under constant threat of being voted out, while Jon has never been a target. Kyle seemingly started the game as one of the reasons Silas was voted out, then he was able to relax for a few weeks before coming back with a vengeance and eliminating two power players from the game. Chelsea had seen one main ally go home while also being able to build a game-bond with Sharon.
April and Ruth had been on the same tribe since the beginning of the game, and as 2 of the 4 remaining original Nevala players, they have not seen eye to eye but have made it this far together! David C. has survived a few late night challenges, and now with a new baby in the household we’ll find out of the lack of sleep helps or hinders. His friend Bryan has dominated the team Immunity Challenges all season long – definitely team challenge MVP – but will that success translate to the individual game?
Peter came into the game with massive expectations, and has played a cerebral game so far, but hasn’t at all had to get his hands dirty. Is he ready to play now that his friend/nemesis Elliott is back in the game representing Exile Island (and expected to actually play the game this time!) James was almost voted out back at our 2nd Tribal Council, but has made it this far for the first time and definitely will be wanting to stir up some drama.

Jordan just watched his cousin Graham go home at the last vote before the merge for the second Survivor Hamilton game in a row. Last time he made it all the way to the final 3, but would his quest for vengeance get him to the finals this time, or ensure that he flames out earlier? Survivor Hamilton vet Chris also has big expectations and lot of connections left in the game, but will he play it safe or go the fun route and make some early big moves?
And then there’s Paul? What is Paul going to do in his first ever Survivor Hamilton merge??? I for one can’t wait to find out!
The first step in this new journey is our first individual Immunity Challenge. From this point in the game, team Immunity is no more, and this is an INDIVIDUAL game. If you win Immunity you cannot be voted for, giving you more power and freedom to make big moves against your targets. For this, our first challenge of the Merge, our players will be competing in 3 separate challenges for 3 separate Immunity Necklaces:

Our first matchup is for the Logic Immunity Necklace. Our players were given the option to compete in Logic, Match, or by running around their house like a crazy person grabbing items and taking a Selfie. The players competing for the all important first individual Immunity of the season are:
Matchup #1

Our first matchup pits Chelsea and Paul against eachother – two of the game’s premiere challenge performers – with Paul the more consistent of the two, and Chelsea running really hot and cold. April would be looking to build off of a correct answer in the last Immunity Challenge, while Peter and Elliott would go head to head to see who was smarter once and for all! Exciting times! Our first question is below:
This is one of those questions that requires you to write out all the names (I like to use Excel!) and trial/error some options based on the rules above. It should take a minute or so of moving the names around to get to a combination that follows each of the 3 conditions – the correct order being BFGCEDA. Whether due to the time pressure or the difficulty of the question, there was only one correct answer from the players above….
It wasn’t Peter, who was having dinner with family which happens every day and is not at all a good excuse.
It wasn’t Chelsea who answered quickly (as usual!) but not correctly (as… sometimes?) with a response of FBGECDA. Close but close ain’t worth nothin.
It wasn’t Paul who answered a moment later with an even more wrong order of AFGBDCE.
And finally it wasn’t April who answered twice, neither of which were correct.
That means against all odds, and immediately after returning from Exile Island, the first player to answer the question, the only one to do it correctly, and the winner of the Immunity Necklace (and title of Logic Master?) is… Elliott!

On to our second matchup! This was for the Selfie Immunity Necklace, and there would be four players participating:
Matchup #2

Presumably this matchup will not require as much “brain power” and so it will be perfect for these four players! Just kidding, but they chose to run around their homes wildly in hopes of finding the below items the fastest (and not answer a difficult logic or math question). Chris had found himself struggling a little with the questions earlier in the game, speed over accuracy, and was hoping that he could turn that around. David C.’s wife just had a baby, so he may not be able to participate at all! Jordan would definitely want this security, because for the first time this game he actually needed it. And Sharon has been waiting a long time for the opportunity to simply be able to save herself, and so it would be exciting to see who won. These are the items they had to find:
How hard is this right? 4 of those items should be pretty easy to dig up, so this was going to be totally about SPEED!!!! Of course all 4 players were able to complete this objective, but who would be quickest???
It wasn’t Jordan or David C., who both sent in their nice photos at exactly the same time, but slower than the other two…
And it wasn’t Sharon, despite how fast she responded, and how closely this challenge made her embrace her plunger!
No, it was our second “bastard” winner of the evening with an explosively fast answer (and a delicate hold on his plunger) just when he needed the security to potentially make big moves… Chris!!!

Now onto our third and final matchup of the evening, for the Math Immunity Necklace….
Matchup #3

MVP Bryan would be in tough against some other strong challenge performers. Ruth and Jon had been two of the steadiest challenge threats since the Tribe Swap. Kyle was always an odds on favorite to win a challenge when that outcome suited him. James had been labelled early after some late challenge answers, but overall he’d been really steady and had sped up his answers over the past few weeks considerably. Each of these 5 players was here to win, but one 1 would…
A room contains 40 men and women who are either right-handed or left-handed. Seventeen are right-handed men, nine are left-handed, and twenty-one are women. How many of the people in the room are left-handed women?
Who doesn’t love math?!?! This is actually more of a logic question when you think about it, but you definitely need to understand numbers to answer it correctly. With Elliott and Chris already wearing Immunity Necklaces, their safety guaranteed, who would join them? And could it be another “bastard”? There are 2 or 3 in this matchup, so a clean sweep is definitely possible! The answer is 7 by the way.
Immunity would NOT be going to Kyle, who answered the quickest but somehow achieved an answer of 6, which was incorrect.
It would not be James, who mistakenly submitted 17, before sending the dreaded 2nd message with the correct answer, but unacceptable.
Bryan would not kick off his merge with a victory, as he found the correct answer, but was around 2 minutes too late with it.
And finally, it would not be Ruth. Though she also found the correct answer in a very fast time, she was around 60 seconds too late herself, narrowly missing out on Immunity.
No, it would not be one of those 4 winning Immunity. This necklace would be going to another challenge beast, who led Nevala to many close defeats, and was now playing for himself… Jon!!!

And that concludes Tendua’s first Individual Immunity Challenge. Congratulations to Elliott, Jon and Chris on their victories! I’m sure there is a group of players that is VERY happy with this result, and a number of others that just got very concerned about their future of their games. And to the rest of you, congrats for getting this far. That is an accomplishment in itself, and you should all be very proud of yourselves. We will be carrying out our first merge Tribal Council on Wednesday evening at 6:15pm if that’s possible for everyone, You will not be able to vote for Elliott, Jon or Chris but everyone else is fair game.

Looking forward to it! 🙂
