Previously on Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New
Last night we had one of our wildest Tribal Councils of the season. After Kyle used an advantage to remove himself from Tribal Council, but Jon and Bryan used Hidden Immunity Idols to protect themselves. Those decisions turned out to be the correct ones as they received 6 and 2 votes respectively. The last vote was cast for David C. who became the 5th member of our Jury with only a single vote against.

As predicted, Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New has really picked up since the players merged onto Tendua. Each vote has been a back and forth, down to the wire, affair, with blindsides, advantages, and idols very much coming into play. The game has been going on for months, and though the players risk “burning out”, they’ve really ramped up the strategy, and I for one really appreciate that. It felt like it was going to take special circumstances for David C. to be voted out of the game (due to him not being a huge strategic threat) and that turned out to be true with Kyle, Jon and Bryan all playing hidden advantages to save themselves.
We will never know if Kyle needed to use his “Total Safety” reward, but he did – and now appears to be unprotected for the first time in a while. Jon and Bryan definitely DID need to use their Hidden Immunity Idols, and I’m left to wonder how exactly they knew to use them, and why those two were targeted in the first place. It’s obvious that they are arguably the two strongest performers in Immunity Challenges this season, which could come into play, or were they targeted BECAUSE other players knew they had these idols? It should be easier in Survivor Hamilton to keep secrets, but without being face to face, it seems that players are using knowledge of these advantages to build trust. But if it were me, I’d be keeping them secret from everyone, that’s for sure.
One thing was clear… with another 2 Hidden Immunity Idols out of the game, safety was at a premium – and the only way to guarantee yourself a sport in the Top 8 Tournament is to win Immunity today. Luckily for the players though, I’ve increased their odds a little bit…

Our Top 9 have been randomly placed into three 3 teams, and will be competing for team Immunity. This means that 3 players will be walking away from this challenge wearing Immunity necklaces, and will head straight into the Top 8! Here are the teams:
Bryan, Jordan & James

Kyle, Graham & Chris

and finally,
April, Paul & Jon

Each player was sent a unique question in the format (The number of letters in a famous actor’s name) + (The number of letters in a capital city) = ?
They would need to add their totals to eachothers’ to achieve a Team Total that they would then send to me as their answer. The first team to have all 3 players send in their correct answer would win Immunity x3.
That’s right. We took the time to come up with 9 unique questions so that they could be no cross-team shenanigans. Somehow 2 teams completely messed it up though, by sending in incorrect answers. Why in the world you’d want to lose now with a spot in the Top 8 on the line is beyond me!
Anyways, the first team to answer was Kyle, Graham & Chris and they were…
Incorrect! Their Team Total was 36, but they somehow answered 37, disqualifying them from victory.
The next team to answer was Bryan, Jordan & James with a Team Total of 47.
They were followed a minute later by Paul, Jon & April who answered 37.
Only one of those teams was correct.
The winning team, and the 3 players that are walking away with Immunity Necklaces are…
…

…

Bryan, Jordan & James!!!
That’s Jordan’s 2nd Individual Immunity in a row, while Bryan and James each win on Tendua for the first time. No matter which team won, Tribal Council on Saturday is going to be crazy with 3 players immune from the vote and 6 player eligible to join the Jury. But these 3 can sleep easy knowing that they’ll be sitting in the Top 8 and playing in the exciting Top 8 Tournament!
As for the rest of you. One of you WILL be joining the Jury on Saturday night, so I wish you very much luck with your social game and with trying to come up with a plan to get yourself and your allies into next week still as part of the game. Tribal Council will be at 8:15pm on Saturday as long as that works for you guys.
Good luck!

Can’t wait to see what unfolds!
