Tribal Council #28

Previously on Survivor Hamilton: Old Meets New
After Chris and James were voted out back to back, Jon was the obvious next target as the “Last Bastard”. But what cam next stunned everyone as Jon pulled out his 3rd individual Immunity win of the season, guaranteeing himself a spot in the Final 4. Now with a 3-person alliance and Jordan on the outside, he’d need a miracle too to save himself tonight.

And if you look closely at the above picture of our Tendua Top 5, you’ll that Jordan did find himself a miracle. In the wee small hours as Friday night turned to Saturday morning, Jordan found himself unable to sleep. Then, he took a quick peek at his phone, which is normally set to “Do Not Disturb” at night. His eye caught that he had an email from me at 3:05am, which is not a normal time to be receiving Reward Challenges. But in this case, a game-changing Hidden Immunity Idol would need to be really earned because it was obviously going to have an impact – since Final 5 is the last time Hidden Immunity Idols can be played. So Jordan saw this:

Send me a single photo with 7 items from the below list. This is NOT a selfie photo, just a single photo with 7 items visible in frame, and accuracy will count.
– a fruit or vegetable
– a battery
– sunglasses
– lip balm
– a screwdriver
– a pill bottle
– a beverage in a can
– a photo in a frame
– a USB key
– winter gloves/mitts
The first player to complete this task will win a Hidden Immunity Idol.

Springing into action, believing that he was the first player to notice this email, Jordan quickly gathered up some of his belongings and snapped the following Immunity Idol-winning photograph:

The real icing on the cake was the wonderful framed photo of Jordan and his beautiful (and ex-Survivor Hamilton contestant) wife Claudia. I of course was asleep and did not see that Jordan needed to amp himself up in the middle of the night, and then wait another 5+ hours before even finding out he won lololol. So Jordan won a Hidden Immunity Idol exactly when he needed it, a day after Jon won the Immunity Challenge he needed to win, and these events spelled real trouble for April, Bryan and Graham.

These 3 had been working closely together since the Merge, and had a pretty solid plan all lined up. But as we know, you can’t plan too far in advance in Survivor Hamilton because you never know what twist is around the corner. They had a shot at last night’s Reward, but ultimately because Jordan saw it first, one of them would be headed to the Jury. Graham would obviously not be voting for April, while the opposite could not necessarily be confirmed. Even still, that made Bryan the most likely target for them. But what would Jordan and Jon think?

Survivor Edge of Extinction: Ranking the top five Tribal Councils ...

Bryan was obviously a challenge threat, as well as a strong contender for Jury votes. April and Graham were working together, and one of them winning the next two challenges could very likely lead to an April-Graham Final 2. But since challenges wins will be so important moving forward into the last week of the game, Jon and Jordan would really just need to trust their own challenge abilities, because nobody was going to take them to the end. So the vote was down to April, Bryan or Graham – though only one of them was sure it’d be them joining the Jury. Check out the Tribal Council video below:

And before I read the votes, will Jordan be playing his newly acquired Hidden Immunity Idol?

Yup!

Any votes cast for Jordan will not count. I’ll read the votes…

First Vote:
bryan-tendua

.

Second Vote:
april-tendua
We’re tied, 1 vote Bryan, 1 vote April.

.

Third Vote:
bryan-tendua
That’s 2 votes Bryan, and 1 vote April.

.

Fourth Vote:
bryan-tendua
That’s it, by a vote of 4-1, Bryan is the 26th player voted out of the game, and becomes the 10th member of the Jury.

Bryan has been a dominant force in Survivor Hamilton all season long, and that dominance even extends to an unpublished Reward Challenge that took place on Friday evening where Bryan won the ability to add another player to the Jury. He decided to bring Silas back from Exile Island, and even though Silas was voted out in the first week of the game, Bryan has gifted him with a vote at our Final Tribal Council. Awesome eh?

It’s not likely that winning that Reward Challenge played an impact in Bryan being voted out, but it certainly didn’t help his chances! Silas gets his Survivor Hamilton voice back, while Bryan was pushed out by Jon’s Immunity necklace, Jordan’s Hidden Immunity Idol, and the fact that he was aligned with a married couple. Bryan played a very strong all-around game, but he was not able to keep his closest allies safe, and he ended up with players that were likely not going to bring him to the end. Still, considering that Bryan was not even voted out the last time he played (eliminated on rocks after a tied vote) a 5th place finish is very impressive. Way to go Bryan!

As for our Final 4. Tomorrow (Sunday between 5pm-9pm) will be their 2nd last Immunity Challenge, where the winner will select which player joins them in the Final 3, while the other two will battle it out in a live “win and you’re in” challenge. After that, on Tuesday, our Final Immunity Challenge will take place to determine which player earns a spot in the Final 2 and the right to choose who will join them. On Friday they will attempt to earn the Jury’s vote, and on Saturday the results will be revealed live at our Finale Event BBQ. What a week we have in store, and then FREEDOM.

Always get rid of players who are big threats in challenges first.

Bryan, I shall transfer you my copy of ‘Game Theory’ in google docs at no cost since you clearly need it.
